Marriages are made in heaven and planned on Earth. It takes months of efforts to get the dream marriage painted to reality. Behind all this is the great planning. On Sunday the 7th October 2018, Sydney witnessed one of the best wedding event called” Australia India Wedding Expo” organised by Silk and Sparkle lead by Anju.
The event was one of its kind, which brought together several banners providing different services for wedding under one roof in Hyatt Regency Sydney on Sunday.
Several months of hard work and detailed planning had gone into it. One of the main attractions of the day was the fashion show, which displayed various styles of wedding wear designed by Anju from Silk and Sparkle. Models were selected from different walks of life who were trained to walk the ramp showcasing her creations. The fashion show at Australian Indian Wedding Expo was choreographed by world-renowned Liza Varma, former Miss India and world renowned show director. All the dresses were provided by Anju from Silk and Sparkle and the beautiful make-up was done by very talented Inderpreet Kaur-owner of Beauty Monks -Bridal Makeup & Hair. The fashion show also saw the launch of the an international designer Tara Bhuyan showcasing works from the north east India.
I was lucky to be one of the 30 models. I would say being a mother of 10-month-old daughter and a full time professional, it was very challenging. I was inspired by the fact that I was selected to represent an artist’s imagination and in this case, it was the dresses designed by Silk and Sparkle. Speaking of other models, some were young students, other were busy mum and professionals like me. And as William Shakespeare rightly says, All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players they have their exits and their entrances; and one man in his time plays many parts, his acts being seven ages.
Talking about empowerment, this show was true example where Anju from silk and sparkle gave every model another opportunity to come out of their day-to-day shell. Its true example of equipping people with a new skill set.
Anjuji you have delivered an incredible show with much elegance & style. Every costume was a unique piece.
“Stay tuned for the season two of the Australia India Wedding Expo.”
